Sunday Afternoons

Joyce and her new bike

One of my favourite things to do on a Sunday afternoon is to "get out".  This afternoon, the girls and I went for a walk/bike ride along the walkway.

Who Will Move to Mars?

All of my ancestors moved to Utah in the 1800's as Mormon pioneers.  Perhaps because I've made several elective international moves with Mike and our kids - and know a little bit about the uncertainty and work involved - I've become very curious about the individuals in our family who decided to make such a big move.

Each of these people moved to Utah when the Utah Territory was outside the boundaries of any known nation.

Would it be similar to someone, someday, deciding to leave Earth and join a fledgling, multi-national, multi-lingual, experimental community on Mars?

The following information is a from a booklet that Mercy and I created.  We prepared visuals to show the family group with which each of our ancestors travelled to the Utah Territory.  We also included some of our favourite anecdotes and biographical details.  Thanks to Mercy for the formatting.
